The Radiological Society of North America disclosed plenary speakers who were all prepared to take the center stage during an annual meeting of the organization this winter.
This year, the theme centers around the task of redefining radiology, involving the President of RSNA, Mary C, Mahoney, MD, to discuss what it truly means to the President during an opening session.
Mahoney revealed, “The pandemic has revealed several issues in the profession, starting with inequities involved in patients’ access to healthcare and inefficiencies in the workflows. It is only a waste of opportunity to return to previous operations without reflecting on the present. Instead, we should deploy pioneering ways to carry out the work more emphatically and effectively.”
James Merlino, MD, would continue the discussion by emphasizing successful strategies used across the Cleveland Clinic for creating an excellent patient experience. Merlino, as the Chief Clinical Transformation Officer of the health giant, supervises the Office of Patient Experience, Office of Continuous Improvement, and the Enterprise Safety and Quality.
Bonus plenary sessions included:
- James A. Brink, MD, Radiologist-in-Chief at the Massachusetts General Hospital, discussed how radiology and advanced services can impact patient results and improve the quality of life, and the duty of providers to appropriately use the guidelines of evidence-based imaging.
- A joint demonstration from Michele Johnson, MD, Yale Medicine, and Christine Porath, Ph.D., Georgetown University professor, discussing various actionable ways that radiologists can use to provide equitable and fair patient care.
- First collaborative plenary session of RSNA, featuring the team-based competition conducted in the format of a game show.
- The American Association of Physicists in Medicine Symposium/RSNA highlighting all collaborative opportunities possible between physicists and radiologists and the greater importance of innovative imaging in the world of radiology practices today.
RSNA reaffirmed its commitment to an in-person meeting in Chicago back in May. The annual gathering last year was held online, which was the first cancellation of the program since 1945 when the complications of World War II had put an end to the show.
The 10th world-leading medical imaging conference iteration shall be conducted from Nov 28, Sunday to Dec 2, Thursday. Those who would not be able to reach Chicago can have an access to 100% of online meeting content, said RSNA.
As radiology holds more importance in this world than ever before, it is prudent to have sophisticated and state-of-the-art imaging facilities to assist healthcare. sepStream® is one of the finest health imaging software that offers accurate imaging results to patients within a very short time. Faultless medical imaging is the only correct path of early diagnosis, which may lead to prompt treatment and recovery.
